PARTNER NEWS: Bespoke NFC tag supplier and manufacturer RapidNFC has expanded its range to include NFC asset tags that are designed to make it easy to tag a wide range of assets from cables to shelving and machinery.
“If you have a scenario when you’re in a warehouse or you need to asset tag machinery or something like that, sometimes putting a sticker or a PVC or ABS tag onto that isn’t quite suitable,” the company’s Jack Sage told NFC World. “It’s much easier to tie a cable tie around it — that’s best case scenario for them.
“NFC asset tags can be used for anything from shelving to machinery, anything you can tie a cable tie around really, and it’s just an alternative method of asset tagging as opposed to usual industrial tags.”
“With NFC, you can use multiple devices to scan it and it’s also quite a lot cheaper than RFID, for instance, and other forms of asset tracking,” Sage added. “There are huge benefits to it — we are seeing it as one of the biggest areas of our business and it’s a hugely growing market.”
The cable ties house a Ntag213 NFC chip and can wrap around objects from 70mm diameter down to around 35mm diameter. The product is a highly visible green with a bright yellow face and is available with alternative chips and other colours as a special order.
