Boku and Verteda take carrier billing to UK venues

QJacker
FAST TRACK: Verteda has added carrier billing to it Qjacker mobile payments app

UK consumers can now pay for food and drinks at sports and entertainment venues serviced by IT solutions provider Verteda and charge their purchases to their mobile phone bill. The company has integrated the service into its Qjacker mobile payments app through direct carrier billing provider Boku.

Boku has also announced that it has formed partnerships with “every major mobile carrier in the UK” to enable the service, which will let consumers select their order and complete their purchase within the mobile app and then pick-up the goods from a dedicated collection point.

“Qjacker allows you to use our website or smartphone app to pre-order your refreshments before you get to your event,” says Verteda. “Choose the venue you are visiting and the event you are attending so that we can show you what is available for pre-order. Browse the menu of available refreshments and pick the ones you want to order. When you have finished, make your payment securely online.”

Reducing queues

“After you have paid, we’ll send you an order confirmation email,” the company adds. “Make sure you bring this with you to the event so that we know who you are. Alternatively, if you have a smartphone, you can download a Passbook Pass onto your device. Collect your refreshments from the dedicated Qjacker lane easily identifiable at the venue.”

“For vendors and consumers alike, one of the largest frustrations at major events in venues are queues at kiosks and concession stands. It’s a friction point that can often lead to customers going elsewhere or simply giving up,” says Trevor Roberts, VP of sales at Verteda.

“Qjacker was built to reduce queues, thereby improving the fan experience. Adding carrier billing into Qjacker via Boku is a natural extension of the fan experience that reduces effort further by removing the need to enter credit card information.”
