London taxi firm promotes app downloads with NFC and QR stickers

Radio Taxis NFC

Radio Taxis, one of London’s biggest taxi operators, is promoting downloads of its mobile app by placing NFC and QR code stickers in its 2,500 vehicles.

Scanning or tapping the stickers provides passengers with a direct link to the company’s app, which they can then use to call the nearest Radio Taxi with one click as well as see the taxi’s location in real time.

“We are seeing an increased uptake of clients using NFC to promote app downloads by Android and Windows Phone users,” says Phil Coote, CEO of RapidNFC, which encoded and custom printed the stickers for Radio Taxis.

“By placing the NFC tags within their fleet, Radio Taxis have been able to maximise the opportunity provided by the dwell times of passengers.”

The stickers use BullsEye NFC tags supplied by Smartrac.

  1. Ótima campanha. Enquanto o usuário espera a chegada ao destino, tem tempo suficiente para baixar o app.

Great campaign. While the user waits for the arrival at destination, has enough time to download the app.
