SMART PLAY: Customers will be able to buy chips for table games direct from a digital wallet on their phone

Gamblers at Resorts World Las Vegas in Nevada in the US will soon be able to purchase gambling chips for table games including blackjack, baccarat and roulette, as well as place contactless cashless bets at slot machines, directly from a digital wallet on their mobile phone.

Once they have installed the resort’s app, users can load Resorts World’s GamingPlay digital wallet by depositing cash at a kiosk or service desk or by linking it to their debit or credit card, bank or PayPal account. They can then use the wallet to “pay for any gaming, entertainment, or hotel offerings from the palm of their hand,” the resort says.

Users will also be able to join the resort’s loyalty programme, add a digital loyalty card and receive offers and rewards via the Resorts World app.

“The vision for GamingPlay is to provide seamless capabilities to load their wallet in two ways, by depositing cash at one of the NEO Kiosks provided by NRT Technology or at the player services desk, or by enrolling in Sightline’s Play+,” Resorts World explains.

“Play+ will allow guests to connect to external funding sources like a bank account, credit, debit or PayPal account, and load their GamingPlay wallet.

“This solution will offer guests the flexibility to transfer funds in and out of their GamingPlay wallet and linked Play+ account and will provide the convenience of transactions without leaving their seat or standing in lines.

“Guests also have three different ways to input and present their loyalty card on the casino floor, including a physical loyalty card, digital loyalty card, or entering their phone number at any slot machine.”

Smart tables

Resorts World’s “smart tables” will use “RFID embedded chips for every dollar denomination to provide 100% accuracy of guests’ gaming activity” and “ensure guests receive the most accurate recognition through the resort’s loyalty program,” the resort says.

It adds that a “ticket-in-ticket-out” solution will also let users “conveniently move from slots to tables or vice versa by simply using cash-out vouchers. This capability will eliminate the need to find a ticket redemption center to exchange the voucher for cash and then go to the table to buy in.

“The resort will also introduce Perfect Pay at baccarat tables which, in addition to player tracking, provides technology that will allow guests to place additional wagers, such as insurance and Lucky 6 side bets.”

“Through our partnerships with best-in-class gaming technology partners, we will offer our guests a fully integrated experience, not just on the gaming floor but across the entire resort,” Resorts World’s Rick Hutchins says.

“The Resorts World Las Vegas mobile app will better serve patrons by providing loyalty and personalisation based on their preferences for guests enrolled in our Genting Rewards program.”
