The Xiaomi Mi3 is the rising star Chinese handset-maker’s latest flagship smartphone.
The Mi3 has a 5-inch full HD screen and is the first smartphone to offer Nvidia’s 1.8GHz Tegra 4 quad-core processor, albeit only in a version made for China Mobile. China Unicom and China Telecom subscribers get a Qualcomm 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor in their devices.
The device runs Xiaomi’s Miui v5 flavour of Android 4.2 and includes an embedded Pearl secure element from Oberthur Technologies.
Announced in September 2013, prices range from Yuan 1999 (US$325) to Yuan 2499 (US$410) and the Mi3 is expected to ship first in China in October before also rolling out to Hong Kong and Taiwan.
