Garmin lets Japanese commuters add Suica transit cards to smart wearables

SMART PAYMENT: Suica transit cards can now be added to Garmin smartwatches to pay for public transport

Garmin smartwatch owners in Japan can now add their Suica transit card to their wearable device and use it to pay for public transportation and at stores that accept Suica payments.

The service is compatible with Android and iOS devices and is currently available for owners of 10 different Garmin models.

Until now, digital versions of Suica were available only on iPhones and Apple Watch, Ata Distance reports.
