Walmart Pay completes nationwide rollout

Walmart Pay rollout
JOB DONE: Walmart Pay is now available in all of the company’s stores across the US

US supermarket giant Walmart has completed its nationwide rollout of Walmart Pay, making the service available in more than 4,600 stores across the country. The retailer has also recorded a 45% increase in Walmart Pay transactions in the last week.

88% of Walmart Pay transactions come from those who have already used the service at least once, Walmart has also revealed, while four out of five of its shoppers would recommend using the mobile payment service.

“Available through the Walmart app, Walmart Pay works with any iOS or Android device, at any checkout lane and with any credit, debit, prepaid or Walmart gift card,” the retailer says. “Walmart Pay is like no other mobile payments solution available today, expanding access to mobile payments and improving the way customers check out in all Walmart stores in the US.”

Simplicity

“There is something very powerful about the ease and simplicity of Walmart Pay,” says Daniel Eckert, senior vice president of services at Walmart. “What’s even more powerful though is what this means for our customers.

“Walmart Pay is just the beginning. We’re building deeper relationships with our customers across our ecosystem and are looking forward to delivering new tools like Walmart Pay that allow them to use the Walmart app as their remote control for a faster, more convenient shopping experience.”

Walmart Pay was unveiled in December 2015 and went live for iPhone users in April 2016. It launched in Arkansas and Texas in May 2016 and went live in a further 15 states before rolling out to another 14 states earlier this month.

  1. I did not even think to use the Walmart app on my last visit to Walmart. Will certainly use it the next time.
