Miami Heat fans get mobile payments and ticketing

Fans of basketball team Miami Heat will now be able to make purchases at concession stands across the AmericanAirlines Arena by having a QR code scanned on their mobile device. Funds are debited from a credit card stored in the user’s mobile wallet account or by using reward points that are turned into Arena Bucks.

Set up a couple of additional security questions and scan or type in your credit card of choice.

“At any concession stand that accepts mobile wallet, open your mobile wallet in the menu. Scan the QR code and choose your payment option. With every purchase you make, you’ll also earn reward points which can then be transferred into Arena Bucks. These Arena Bucks will appear as another payment option in your mobile wallet.”

The new mobile app will also feature a mobile ticketing function that will allow fans to gain access into the arena by scanning a QR code on their mobile device.

“Tap scores and schedules to pick a game and buy tickets,” the company adds. “Your tickets will be loaded into your Ticketmaster account on your app. Once you get to the arena, open the same menu and look at the top for My Tickets. It will pull up your electronic ticket for instant access. Just scan the phone like you would a ticket.”
