To make NFC payments, customers must be T-Mobile subscribers and have a MasterCard debit card issued by the bank. Payments can then be made using MyWallet of up to PLN50 (US$16) without entering a PIN. Eurobank will also offer physical contactless cards as part of the partnership.

Eurobank is encouraging its customers to sign up for the service by offering 10% cashback on all contactless transactions up to the value of PLN600 (US$194) during their first six months. Customers who order the service by the end of October 2013 and carry out three contactless payments within 30 days will get an additional PLN50 bonus.

“The mobile channel is becoming increasingly important for Eurobank,” says Wojciech Humiński, VP of Eurobank. “We are aware that with the increasing popularity of mobile devices, more and more customers will treat it as their primary channel.

“With the range of mobile contactless payments also expanded, I hope the functionality of our mobile application will help and brighten our customers’ use of Eurobank every day.”
