MegaFon adds low cost NFC phone

Russian carrier MegaFon has added the Alcatel One Touch 922 to its range of phones. Described as “the first low-budget Android smartphone supporting NFC”, the One Touch 922 costs 3,990 Rubles (US$131) and features a 3.2-inch TFT display, 650MHz processor and 3.2MP camera.

“The majority of customers buy mobile devices for several years of active use. This smartphone is a low-cost but multi-functional gadget, which due to its capability to support future-proof NFC technology and diverse functionality will remain up-to-date for several years of use,” says Mikhail Zolotovitsky, head of MegaFon Retail.

Alcatel One Touch phones are made by Chinese electronics manufacturer TCL Communication.
