The kit costs €180 and includes a C7 NFC phone as well as a selection of NFC tags.
Nokia has launched a kit that provides developers with a low-cost way to obtain an NFC phone and a selection of tags to experiment with.
The NFC Device Kit costs €180 (approximately US$245/£156) and includes:
- A Nokia C7 NFC phone, running Symbian Anna
- 12 Type 1 NFC tags (Topaz, 96 bytes)
- 12 Type 2 NFC tags (Mifare Ultralight C, 64 bytes)
- …and a special offer voucher for NFC products from the Top Tunniste online store.
“While development and testing of applications can be done using simulators and emulators, nothing beats running and debugging your application on a real device,” says Nokia. “When talking about applications utilising NFC the need for a physical device is even more important. To be able to test how two devices react to each other with your application running, how well they react to different tags and different content stored in NFC tags, having access to a physical device is paramount.”
The Device Kit is available to all Nokia Developer Pro and Launchpad program members. For those who don’t already have a membership, Nokia is also offering a free one year subscription to Nokia Developer Launchpad.
